Numerous schools and college students actively participated in the Swachhta Pakhwada Beach Cleanliness Drive. 100 students and 7 teachers from Class 11 of ONGC Public School,Karaikal, were among the enthusiastic participants. The students showed great enthusiasm and dedication to contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
Activities:
Beach Cleaning: The students, along with other participants, engaged in a thorough beach cleaning exercise. Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and other necessary cleaning tools, they meticulously picked up litter, plastics, and other waste materials from the beach. This activity aimed to restore the pristine beauty of the beach and create a clean and hygienic environment.
Waste Segregation: The students actively sorted and segregated the collected waste into different categories such as plastic, glass, paper, and organic waste. This segregation was an essential step towards proper waste management and recycling.
Awareness Campaign: In addition to the cleanup efforts, the students also conducted an awareness campaign. They interacted with visitors to the beach, educating them about the harmful effects of littering and the significance of maintaining cleanliness. They distributed pamphlets and displayed banners with informative messages to encourage responsible behaviortowards the environment.
The students showcased their dedication to environmental preservation by engaging in various activities, including beach cleaning, waste segregation, awareness campaigns, and tree plantation. Through their efforts, they contributed to creating a cleaner and healthier beach environment.
